Evaluate Odoo

Does Odoo Fit Your Business?

The answer depends on more than a feature list. Start with your processes, operational complexity, integrations, data and growth requirements — then evaluate where Odoo fits.

Our position

AAKoryx is an official Odoo Silver Partner. We help organizations evaluate Odoo against their operational requirements; we are not a platform-neutral ERP selection firm.

Who should evaluate Odoo

Odoo deserves serious consideration when…

  • You’re outgrowing spreadsheets, legacy ERP or disconnected tools.
  • Sales, inventory, purchasing, production and accounting need to work from the same records.
  • Your operation spans multiple warehouses, companies or channels.
  • You would rather run one platform than integrate many point solutions.

Evaluate more carefully when…

  • Critical processes depend on highly specialized functionality.
  • Several existing systems must stay and integrate deeply.
  • Requirements are still undefined — the evaluation will only be as good as the process understanding behind it.

The evaluation framework

Seven things to think through before deciding.

Use these whether or not you talk to us. Each one is a question about your operation — not about software features.

  1. 01

    Processes

Which workflows actually run the business — and which exist only as workarounds?

    Questions to answer

    • Have the critical end-to-end flows been mapped (order to cash, procure to pay, plan to produce)?
    • Which steps are essential, and which exist because of today’s systems?
  2. 02

    Operational complexity

Where does your operation depart from the typical?

    Questions to answer

    • How many companies, warehouses, locations or currencies are involved?
    • Which exceptions happen every week — returns, substitutions, partial shipments, rework?
  3. 03

    Data

What has to move, and can it be trusted?

    Questions to answer

    • Which records must migrate: customers, products, open orders, stock, balances?
    • Who owns data quality before migration — and how clean is it today?
  4. 04

    Integrations

What stays, and how tightly must it connect?

    Questions to answer

    • Which systems remain in place — eCommerce, shipping, payroll, specialist tools?
    • Is the connection one-way, two-way, real-time or scheduled?
  5. 05

    Reporting & finance

Can the numbers the business runs on come from the flow itself?

    Questions to answer

    • Which reports and controls does management rely on each month?
    • How will inventory valuation, costing and month-end close work?
  6. 06

    Adoption

Will the people who run the process use it as designed?

    Questions to answer

    • Who owns each process, and are they part of the evaluation?
    • How much change can the team absorb at once?
  7. 07

    Growth & change

Will the design still fit in a few years?

    Questions to answer

    • Which changes are likely — new locations, product lines, channels or acquisitions?
    • Can new requirements be met with configuration rather than new custom code?

Warning signs

Signs an evaluation is being driven by the demo.

  1. 01

The demo uses sample data, not your scenarios.

Ask to see your own order, production or month-end scenario run end to end.

  2. 02

Nobody has mapped your current processes.

Without them, “fit” is a guess.

  3. 03

    Integrations are “handled later”.

They are often where cost and risk concentrate.

  4. 04

Customization comes up only after selection.

Know early which gaps need configuration, process change or code.

  5. 05

Reporting and close aren’t part of the evaluation.

If finance can’t see how the numbers will work, the evaluation isn’t finished.

  6. 06

The people who run the process aren’t in the room.

Fit is decided by operators, not only by buyers.

How AAKoryx helps

We evaluate Odoo against how your business runs.

As an Odoo partner, our job at this stage is to show you where Odoo fits, where it needs deeper evaluation, and what implementation would involve — before you commit.

  1. 01

    Map the critical workflows

With the people who run them.

  2. 02

    Walk them through standard Odoo

Using your scenarios, not a generic demo.

  3. 03

    Identify fit and gaps

What’s standard, what needs configuration, process change, integration or development.

  4. 04

    Outline implementation considerations

Data, integrations, adoption and the decisions ahead.
